Although the fashion business developed first in Europe and America, as of 2017, it’s a world and extremely globalized trade, with clothes often designed in a single country, manufactured in another, and sold worldwide. For example, an American fashion company may source fabric in China and have the clothes manufactured in Vietnam, completed in Italy, and shipped to a warehouse within the United States for distribution to shops internationally. Then, within the 1920s, qipao was in vogue and the fashion consisted of stand collars, trumpet sleeves, straight silhouettes and short facet slits. Since then, designers began to maneuver into Western fashion like fur coats and cloaks and body-hugging dresses with long facet slits as qipao became extra popular. In the Fifties and 60s, ‘Lenin coats’ with double traces of buttons, slanting pockets and a belt came into vogue amongst Chinese men. In the early 2000s, Asian fashion influences grew to become increasingly important in local and international markets.
